By acquiring the London-based Soho Sandwich Company, County Down-based food company Around Noon has significantly increased its customer base in the United Kingdom.
The Newry-based business creates quick meals for the go, including sushi, salads, and sandwiches.
With the agreement, annual turnover will almost double to £80 million.
Additionally, it will add a second production facility in the south of England with 300 more employees.
The deal, according to business chairman Howard Farquhar, will help the company get closer to its £100 million revenue goal.
More than 15 million sandwiches are produced and distributed annually by the Soho Sandwich Company, which has been in business for more than 20 years.
Within the Around Noon Group, it will continue to run under its own name, and its current managing director Daniel Silverston will continue to oversee operations.
The Soho Sandwich Company has "a strong reputation for quality, excellence, and innovation," according to Gareth Chambers, the chief executive of Around Noon Foods.
Due to the remarkable alignment in terms of our values and core purpose, he said, "This represents a fantastic opportunity for all parties involved.".
The agreement's financial details are secret.
