A specialized loose tea and coffee shop that established itself as a city landmark has closed its doors after 50 years of operation.
A popular tea and coffee shop in Norwich is Wilkinson's of Norwich, located on Lobster Lane.
The shop's owners have thanked customers and posted a notice in the window announcing its closure.
A post on a local Facebook group has received almost 500 likes, and one person commented that it was a "real loss to Norwich.".
It was "sad" to see the independent shop close, according to some, and "another independent business bites the dust," according to another.
The shop window displayed a calligraphed sign that read, "The day has come, sadly, to close our doors.
"We appreciate your business and send our best wishes.
"On behalf of the management, I want to say how much we have enjoyed the past few years on Lobster Lane. ".
The BBC has made an effort to reach the proprietors.
The store claimed earlier this year on its Facebook page that it had been "struggling" as a result of taking a "big hit during the pandemic" and experiencing problems with its suppliers.
It stated that it hoped to increase low stock levels and mentioned how the issues had arisen during the store's 50th year of operation.
