Following a string of scandals, members of the business lobby group CBI supported the organization in a crucial confidence vote regarding its future.
According to the CBI, 93 percent of voting members supported the proposals intended to reform the organization.
371 members in total cast ballots. Although the CBI asserts to speak for 190,000 businesses, it would not disclose how many of these were eligible to vote.
If the government will reconnect with the lobby group is not yet clear.
The primary duty of the CBI is to communicate with the government on behalf of numerous UK companies.
The allegations of sexual misconduct at the CBI, which were published in the Guardian newspaper, caused the government to halt all cooperation with the organization.
While some businesses suspended their CBI membership, they were still permitted to vote on Tuesday.
Some, like BT, however, declared they would not cast ballots on Tuesday.
The CBI has retained the support of its remaining members, but a recent exodus of fee-paying businesses is already having an impact on the organization.
It recently stated that in order to reduce its wage bill by a third, it will need to make job cuts.
About 250 people work for the CBI in the UK, and it also has offices abroad.
