As the cost of living continues to put pressure on struggling households, fast food chain McDonald's has raised the prices of five of its menu items.
It declared that higher prices for food and energy will take effect on Wednesday.
The fast food juggernaut increased the price of a cheeseburger last summer for the first time in more than 14 years.
The sales of McDonald's, which increased by more than 12% last year, have not been affected by the global inflation crisis.
McDonald's claimed that "affordable prices" were a priority.
"However, like many businesses, ours and our franchisees continue to be impacted by the rise in food and energy prices. ".
The prices listed below are meant as a guide only, according to McDonald's, as franchisees set their own prices.
- 99p to £1.19 for mayo chicken.
