Elon Musk and Mark Zuckerberg, two of the most well-known billionaires in technology, have agreed to compete against one another in a cage match.
On his Twitter account, Mr. Musk declared that he was "up for a cage fight" with Mr. Zuckerberg.
A screenshot of Mr. Musk's tweet with the caption "send me location" was then posted by Mr. Zuckerberg, the CEO of Facebook and Instagram parent company Meta.
According to a Meta representative, "The story speaks for itself.".
The response from Mr. Zuckerberg was then met with Mr. Musk's response: "Vegas Octagon. ".
The Octagon is the fighting arena and competition mat used in Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) fights. Nevada's Las Vegas is home to the UFC.
Musk, who will turn 52 later this month, also tweeted: "I have this great move that I call "The Walrus," where I just lie on top of my opponent and do nothing. ".
Aside from picking up and throwing his kids in the air, he also tweeted, "I almost never work out. ".
Mr. Zuckerberg, 39, has been practicing mixed martial arts (MMA) and has recently triumphed in Jiu-Jitsu competitions.
When contacted by the BBC for comment, Twitter declined to issue a statement.
The arguments have gone viral, with social media users debating who would win the fight and others posting memes with mock posters promoting it.
According to sources who spoke to the BBC, Meta showed staff members plans for a text-based social network meant to rival Twitter earlier this month.
Users might be able to follow accounts on Instagram, Meta's image-sharing application, that they already follow.
It might enable the business to woo users away from centralized platforms and onto decentralized ones like Mastodon.
The platform is being developed, a Meta spokesperson told the BBC.
The text-based network, whose working name is P92, may prove to be a more formidable opponent to Elon Musk's Twitter than either BlueSky or Mastodon.
