Flowers that were given to her by the pop star nearly 50 years ago will be auctioned off by an Elton John superfan.
In 1976, when Deborah Williams from Wolverhampton was 16 years old, she went to see her hero perform when he threw red carnations to the crowd.
She claims that after the flowers were taken from her hand in the crowded crowd, John reached down from the stage and pressed fresh blooms into her hand.
On June 14, Ms. Williams, who is now 64, will auction off the priceless items.
According to the semi-retired government consultant, tickets to the concert at Wolverhampton Civic Halls had only cost £2.50.
I have treasured them ever since, along with all of my other Elton memorabilia, the woman said. The flowers were preserved in a book of Elton John song lyrics after being pressed and dried.
They are very valuable to me, which is why I'm selling them right now. I'm afraid that if something happened to me, my children would wind up in a skip because I don't have any. ".
Elton John T-shirts, flyers, programs, concert tickets, photos, badges, and posters are all included in Ms. Williams' treasure trove of memorabilia, which also includes a rare circular poster featuring Elton John and Ray Cooper from 1977.
A drumstick that Ray Cooper, Elton's percussionist, used in 1979 at the Birmingham Hippodrome Theatre is also on display.
In Hansons Auctioneers' Music Memorabilia sale, all the items will be put up for auction in three lots and are projected to bring in about £500.
The celebrity will perform in Birmingham on June 10 and 11 at the Utilita Arena as part of his Farewell Yellow Brick Road Tour.
