As she returned to ITV's This Morning, Holly Willoughby said she feels "shaken, troubled, and let down.".
Since the departure of her co-host Phillip Schofield, the presenter made her first appearance on the show on Monday.
It felt "very strange indeed sitting here without Phil," Willoughby said in an address to the audience.
She acknowledged that recent events had been "a lot to process" and expressed gratitude to the audience for their encouraging remarks.
Following rumors of a falling out with Willoughby, Schofield left his position on This Morning last month.
After confessing to lying about having an affair with a young male coworker while still married, the 61-year-old later left ITV completely.
It feels very strange to be sitting here without Phil, Willoughby questioned the audience, "Are you OK? I hope so. I imagine you're experiencing similar emotions to how I have: you might be shaken, troubled, dejected, concerned for the welfare of people involved on all sides of the situation, and full of questions.
We at This Morning—you, me, and everyone else—gave our love and support to someone who wasn't telling the truth and who acted in such a way that they felt forced to leave ITV and leave a career they adored. ".
It's difficult to understand the impact on their own mental health because there is so much to take in.
The desire to heal for everyone's health and well-being, said Willoughby, "I think what unites us all now. I'm hoping that as we begin this new chapter and return to the cozy and magical space that this show holds for all of us, we can draw strength from one another.
"And may I just say from the bottom of my heart, thank you for all of your kind messages and for being here this morning. Every person who works on this show will continue to put in hard work every day to bring you the program that we all adore. ".
Schofield acknowledged that the affair had ended his career and called it a "grave error" in an interview with BBC News last week.
This Morning with Josie Gibson, a former Big Brother winner who frequently serves as a guest presenter on the ITV daytime program, has Willoughby as its host for the episode airing on Monday.
