For any musician, playing at Glastonbury Festival is the ultimate goal, and for some, appearing on the BBC Introducing stage is a significant career milestone.
Gardna, a Bristol-based MC supported by BBC Introducing in the West, expressed her excitement by saying, "I'm over the moon.".
Being selected to perform, in his words, was "a huge bucket list moment.".
Being able to perform this year for the BBC is "a full 360 moment" for him because he grew up close to the festival grounds, he continued.
George Ezra, Ed Sheeran, and Little Simz—the winner of the 2022 Mercury Prize—all had their careers launched by BBC Introducing, which consists of local and national radio programs.
Gardna, whose real name is Luke Gardiner, said that BBC Introducing's support had been "so good" over the years.
Numerous of his tracks were sent to Radio 1, which led to widespread recognition.
"Introducing in the West has protected me ever since the beginning.
It's incredible to think back on early spins on BBC Introducing in the West and now witness how they've propelled into Hottest Records and BBC Radio 1 Dance Awards. Mind-blowing," said the MC.
The Bristol band Prima Queen, which consists of Louise Macphail and Kristin McFadden, expressed their "really excitement" about playing at Glastonbury Festival.
The group recently advanced to the festival's championship round of the emerging talent competition, earning them a spot on the BBC introducing stage.
Since I was 13, I've actually submitted an application for that contest every year," Ms. Macphail said.
She described it as "surreal" to perform in front of festival founders Michael and Emily Eavis during the championship.
"We're giddy to be performing on the BBC Introducing stage. I've been visiting Glastonbury ever since I was a kid, Ms. Macphail said.
Since I had never been, Louise sat me down and told me it was the most magical place on earth and that we should make it our life's mission to play there, Ms. McFadden continued. ".
The pair described their musical journey thus far as a "dream come true," adding that BBC Introducing also supports them in the West.
It's amazing to compare the gigs we played a year and a half ago to what we are doing now, Ms. McFadden said as she scrolled through her phone.
Andrew Hayes and Matt Brown of the Bristol jazz group Run Logan Run will also perform on the festival's BBC Introducing stage.
They performed there the previous year.
We had a sizable crowd that stopped to watch us as they were on their way to the Pyramid stage, despite the fact that it is only a small stage, according to Mr. Hayes.
The best festival in the world is Glastonbury, so he continued, "We're stoked to be there this year and it feels extra special to be playing on the BBC Intro stage. ".
From 22 to 25 June, 20 up-and-coming musicians will perform on the BBC Introducing stage at Glastonbury Festival, in addition to some unidentified secret acts.
