A Cambridgeshire singer-songwriter claims it feels "really magical" to make her Glastonbury festival debut.
The BBC Music Introducing team in Cambridgeshire first became aware of Ellie Dixon, 24, of Foxton, in 2021.
She currently has a recording contract with Decca Records and has performed on tour with the renowned a cappella group Pentatonix.
On Saturday at 15:30 BST, the alt-pop musician will take the BBC Music Introducing Stage stage with a band.
In spite of her stage fright, Ms. Dixon attended open mic events around Cambridgeshire as a teenager and began writing and recording songs in her bedroom.
The singer was delighted to receive the invitation to perform at the festival while conducting a BBC Introducing interview in Cambridgeshire earlier this year.
The 24-year-old responded in shock: "That's sick, I would love to, that's so cool.".
The Covid-19 pandemic caused a two-year hiatus following the Glastonbury Festival, which ended in June 2022.
Her debut major festival performance took place at Latitude in Suffolk in 2021, where she was also discovered by BBC Music Introducing.
Ms. Dixon said, "It's been crazy, there was so much happening even last year," just prior to her trip to Somerset.
"It seems as though things have really picked up speed in the last few months, and it's kind of surreal.
"I've been rehearsing with my band, and we've made it a really big show for Glastonbury.
It feels incredibly magical. ".
In July, the performer will release Bounce, her newest single, which she is currently working on.
In addition to performing at numerous other festivals across the nation this summer, Ms. Dixon will also embark on her own tour of the UK and Europe in October.
