A music festival in Bristol has been canceled after organizers claimed they were unable to come up with "workable solutions" to ensure attendees' safety.
Tokyo World, which has been held annually for the past nine, was scheduled to take place in Eastville Park in September.
However, the organizers claimed in a statement on Friday that there were "too many growing challenges" with using the park that "cannot be overcome.".
For comments, the police and council have been contacted.
The decision was made with "heavy hearts and deep regret," according to the event's organizers, who added that it "may be back next year, in a new location.".
Although they were "devastated by this and at a loss for words," they wrote, "we would like to thank the thousands of you who have supported us this year and in recent years.".
Headliners Rudimental and Pendulum, as well as Bad Boy Chiller Crew, had been scheduled for the two-day event this year.
The event's organizers claimed they had searched for "workable solutions to the challenges of this location in order to keep the event safe and secure in the surrounding area and on the roads," but they had been unsuccessful.
They claimed to have "worked hard" to get past them in collaboration with Bristol City Council and Avon and Somerset Constabulary.
Even though they had both been "supportive," there were "too many growing difficulties this year with using Eastville Park that cannot be overcome.".
Only one month earlier, on the weekend of September 16–17, the festival seemed to be proceeding as planned.
On May 3, it stated in a statement posted online that it would "spread across five fields of immersive adventure for an entire weekend.".
The countdown has begun, it continued. We are unable to wait. ".
Previously, Busta Rhymes, Mike Skinner from the Streets, and Faithless performed at the event.
