I'm A Celeb: The alcohol license for Gwrych Castle

Das Schloss Gwrych in Abergele im nördlichen Wales

I'm a Celebrity's castle location. Get Me Out of Here! has received a license for both alcohol and entertainment.

The ITV program was produced at Gwrych Castle in Conwy, close to Abergele, in 2020 and 2021 because Covid restrictions prevented the program from airing in Australia.

With this license, the 19th-century castle is permitted to hold live and recorded music events and performances both inside and outside, seven days a week, until 1:00.

The plans were criticized by a few locals.

The application was discussed at a Conwy licensing sub-committee meeting last week by representatives of the organization in charge of the castle, the Gwrych Castle Preservation Trust.

The site's hillside location, according to nearby residents, acts as a "big speaker" for noise, and they had complained about potential noise from the venue.

Before the council made the announcement that the application had been approved this week, the subcommittee discussed the subject.

Gwrych Castle
Early in the 19th century, the castle near Abergele was constructed.

After receiving authorization for civil unions and partnerships last year, Gwrych Castle no longer required authorization to sell alcoholic beverages or host events.

Additionally, the trust has the right to sell alcohol both inside and outside the building every day between 10:00 and 1:00.

A castle spokesman expressed his happiness that the premises license was approved so quickly.
