In a new installation, the walls of the Coventry Museum become works of art

Among the artists

As part of a brand-new installation, artists painted vibrant murals on the museum's walls.

Friday marks the debut of Work on Walls at the Herbert Art Gallery and Museum in Coventry.

Manager Dominic Bubb said that Dippy the Diplodocus, who just arrived this year, was one of the exhibits that served as inspiration for the artwork.

All of the artists have had time to explore our collections, and they have been genuinely moved by what they have found.

The project is a continuation of the Work on Windows exhibition that will be held at the museum in 2020.

In order to put more of our collection on display, Mr. Bubb said, "We'll be showing the specific works or objects that have inspired the artists.".

Manager Dominic Bubb claimed that the artwork was influenced by the museum's holdings.

Starting on Friday, artwork from six artists will be on display, and two more will follow before the start of the school holidays.
