According to her sister, who spoke to the BBC, Irish actress Nicola Coughlan wore a dress in the newest Barbie movie that was modeled after the Barbie doll she played with as a child.
The movie, which debuted on Friday, features the Derry Girls and Bridgerton actress in a small role as Diplomat Barbie.
According to her sister Clodagh Coughlan, Nicola had a say in the costume she chose for her character.
"She's in one big piece when she got the role, so it's a cameo, you know," Clodagh said on Radio Ulster's Saturday with John Toal program.
"When she spoke with the costume designer, she was essentially asked to work with him or her on choosing what her Barbie should wear.
"So when Nicola was young, she had a Barbie doll. I believe her name was Sparkle Eyes Barbie, and she wore a stunning silver dress with big pink puffy sleeves.
"As a result, they modeled the costume after her own Barbie. ".
Alongside actors like Margot Robbie, Ryan Gosling, Helen Mirren, and Will Ferrell, Nicola Coughlan, who hails from Oranmore in County Galway, joined the cast.
According to her sister, going to see the movie would be "a big occasion" for Coughlan's family.
She remarked, "It's so special, it's so nice to mark these things.".
"We're going to make a big special occasion because we have a large group of family and friends coming tomorrow.
It must have been incredible for Greta Gerwig (the director of Barbie) to work with someone who was at the top of her list of people she really wanted to collaborate with.
"And of course, Margot Robbie and Ryan Gosling are both amazing and well-known to girls everywhere.
Therefore, it's nice to pause and take a moment, and I believe that's why we're going to do it tomorrow. We'll mark the occasion with a moment of silence and perhaps even partake in a glass of champagne.
