A journalist from Belfast who claimed that the BBC had bullied her has settled her case, the High Court was informed on Tuesday.
A confidential resolution was reached in Lena Ferguson's lawsuit against the company, according to her attorney.
As part of the agreed-upon terms, which contain no admission of guilt, the BBC will pay Ms. Ferguson's legal fees.
The independent producer will reportedly receive an undisclosed payment.
The case concerned how a report of alleged bullying was handled in 2019, when Ms. Ferguson was a staff member of the highly regarded current affairs program Spotlight.
In proceedings filed after an internal investigation was completed, she alleged a breach of the duty of care.
The action is now settled, her attorney Patrick Lyttle KC declared in court on Tuesday.
The agreement includes a clause stating that the defendant will cover the plaintiff's costs. ".
A statement was released by Ms. Ferguson, who attended the brief hearing.
She said, "I'm very pleased with the settlement reached and that the BBC has agreed to pay my legal costs.
It's disappointing that I had no choice but to file a lawsuit in the High Court. ".
She continued, "I will always be appreciative of the support of my coworkers, especially those who were willing to testify in court on my behalf.
I won't be adding any more commentary. ".
A BBC spokesperson expressed satisfaction that the matter, which involved allegations from 2019, has been resolved. It didn't involve any liability admission.
