Lewis Capaldi postponed a number of upcoming performances in order to "rest and recover" due to health issues.
In order to perform at his peak at Glastonbury on June 24, the Scottish singer admitted that he was having "mental and physical" difficulties.
In the upcoming weeks, concerts by Capaldi, 26, were planned for Glasgow, Dublin, London, and Norway.
He wrote on Instagram that he needed a break from touring so he could "be Lewis from Glasgow for a bit.".
Broken By Desire To Be Heavenly Sent, Capaldi's most recent album, became the fastest-selling album of the year after selling more than 95,000 copies in the first week.
"The time leading up to the release of this new album has been such an incredible time, and seeing all the support from everyone has been beyond anything I could have ever imagined," said Capaldi.
That being said, the past few months have been demanding on both a mental and physical level; I haven't spent quality time at home since the holiday season, and I'm still having trouble managing it all.
"I need to take some time to unwind and recharge so that I can be at my best and prepared for Glastonbury and all of the other amazing shows coming up so that I can keep doing what I love for a very long time. ".
Capaldi expressed his "extreme regret" for the effects of the cancellations on fans who had reserved travel and lodging for the concerts.
Capaldi told the crowds he was living his childhood dream when he appeared at BBC Radio 1's Big Weekend in Dundee last month.
"It's an honor to get to be up here and do this for, and to headline a festival still is mental to me," the performer said. ".
Divinely Uninspired to a Hellish Extent, Capaldi's debut album, outsold all others in the UK in 2019 and went on to become the year's top seller.
