The Download rock festival was the subject of noise complaints, according to the police.
Big names in rock and heavy metal music perform at the annual event at Donington Park in Leicestershire.
"Is someone living out their rock and roll dreams on the back garden?" inquired a nearby resident who lived eight miles (13 km) away.
Despite receiving "a number" of calls, North West Leicestershire District Council was responsible for solving these issues, according to Derbyshire Police.
The four-day festival's location is close to both counties' borders.
On the Facebook page Spotted: Kirk Hallam, Mimsy Barber wrote: "Is that Download you're hearing around Kirk Hallam this evening, or is that someone living out their rock and roll fantasies on the back garden?".
"It's amazing, could actually hear Metallica singing," one response chimed in. ".
The DOWNLOAD festival is 6 miles away, the thudding is unbelievable, and tomorrow is still a working day, according to a Facebook post on the Spotted Long Eaton page. ".
Though most of the responses to this were insensitive, one person said: "Imagine living close to a race track and an airport but sobbing into your cereal over a piece of music. ".
Long delays on several approach roads, including the M1, have already brought criticism to the festival's traffic management.
