One of the venues for an annual arts festival is a 60 feet (18 meters) whale-shaped performance space.
A procession, outdoor circus and dance performances, and other events are scheduled for Feste in 2023.
The 15-year-old festival will also feature The Whale, a performance area where viewers can watch a tale about marine life.
The festival is scheduled to take place on September 22 and 23 at locations throughout the city.
According to the organizers, almost all of the performances would be free.
Illuminos, two video projection artworks, an aerial ballet performance that will be performed vertically off the Silk Mill Tower, and The Whale, a performance on Riverlight Bank that will tell the story of a whale and a leatherback turtle and the threats and dangers they must overcome to survive, are just a few of the events that will be taking place.
"From huge international and national acts to the return of Feste's community procession, it's a chance to engage with the arts community," said Steve Slater, artistic director and CEO of dance organization Deda, which assists in organizing the event. ".
Arts Council England's area director, Peter Knott, stated: "We're proud to support Derby Feste, which draws thousands of visitors from all over Derby and beyond and is a shining example of how creativity and culture in the community can help to make people feel content and proud of the place that they live in.
