This summer's edition of a yearly music festival will feature a massive Godiva puppet.
The six-meter-tall (19-foot) mechanical puppet, which was originally made for the London 2012 Cultural Olympiad, will be on display at the Godiva Festival.
The War Memorial Park event will feature performances by The Enemy, Rudimental, and Melanie C as its headliners.
The event, which runs from June 30 to July 2, includes live music, workshops, and other events.
For the Coventry City Council-run festival, which will feature The Resonate Stage, Imagineer and Media Mania will team up to present the Powerhouse Youth Zone.
It's wonderful that a year after Godiva's trip to London to participate in the Queen's Platinum Jubilee Pageant, she will be attending her first Godiva Festival, said Kathi Leahy, associate producer of Imagineer.
According to councillor Abdul Salam Khan, cabinet member for events and deputy leader at Coventry City Council, "this year's festival will be bigger than ever, and the crowd will be greeted by the iconic Godiva puppet for the first time.".
With spoken word artists, singer-songwriters, rappers, and vocalists performing, including featured artists Samo Songs and Duke Keats, the Powerhouse Youth Zone debuts on June 30.
The main events over the coming days will feature Hazz, Fyah Kamp and Friends, and Teedemba, three enormous works of visual art from Transformations based on the idea of Future Fantasy Cities.
Young people will also have the chance to practice circus skills like wire walking, acrobatics, and aerial hooping, as well as interactive sound creation and puppeteering, including the chance to try their hand at manipulating Godiva the puppet.
