At the movie's Thursday London premiere, Tom Cruise introduced the seventh installment of the Mission: Impossible series.
The actor cited the first installment of the Dead Reckoning movie series as having the "biggest moment" so far.
Alongside him on the red carpet were co-stars Simon Pegg, Hayley Atwell, Rebecca Ferguson, and Vanessa Kirby.
Before the movie's July 14 release, on July 5th, reviews from critics will be released.
The two-part movie, according to Cruise, is the "culmination of all my skills," and he assures viewers that they will still have an "epic adventure" even if they are not familiar with the series.
As the Impossible Mission Force (IMF) sets out to find a terrifying new weapon that threatens humanity, he reprises his role as Ethan Hunt in Mission: Impossible Dead Reckoning Part One.
The movie, which was partially filmed in the UK, includes the customary life-or-death stunts, such as one in which Cruise jumps off a cliff while riding a motorcycle.
Speaking at the London premiere of the movie, he revealed that he had always wanted to direct movies and had devoted himself to taking on new tasks and developing new abilities.
The 60-year-old told the PA news agency, "Since I was a little kid, that's what I did.".
"When I was three or four years old, I was climbing trees and jumping off my roof because I wanted to make movies, have adventures, and travel the world.
"So that's what I do, I train. I enjoy learning new skills and working to improve my proficiency in everything I do. ".
It took years of preparation, he continued. since I fly jets, helicopters, and airplanes. I enjoy racing cars, motorcycles, skydiving, and parachute jumps.
"[This movie] represented the pinnacle of all my abilities. There is a lot going on and happening right now. Getting the shot and telling the story, however, is what matters most. ".
Lockdowns associated with Covid-19 hindered the production of the movie, and in December 2020, an audio recording of Cruise yelling at a crew member for allegedly breaking rules was made public.
According to him, it was extremely difficult to make a movie in 2020 because of all the events that were taking place.
"We kind of wrote the manual on how to do it, and it was an extraordinary experience just sort of getting through. It took a little longer to shoot, but I think it improved the movie. ".
There have been at least $100 million in worldwide box office receipts for each Mission: Impossible movie to date.
The most profitable to date is the sixth installment of the series, Mission: Impossible - Fallout, which made $220 million. However, since the earlier movies were released at the turn of the millennium, their box office receipts are not adjusted for inflation.
Oblivion, Vanilla Sky, Collateral, Jerry Maguire, Top Gun, and Top Gun: Maverick are a few of the other movies that Cruise has acted in.
