Vicky McClure, the Line of Duty actress who has worked to spread awareness of Alzheimer's, has received an MBE in the King's Birthday Honours.
The 40-year-old actress from Nottingham is well-known for a number of action-packed TV parts, but she has also become more well-known for her charitable endeavors.
Following the diagnosis of her deceased grandmother, McClure became an ambassador for the Alzheimer's Society.
To aid those who were ill, she famously founded a choir.
She has been honored for her contributions to charity and theater.
Following her role as Lol Jenkins in the Shane Meadows film This Is England from 2006, McClure first gained widespread recognition.
She returned to the role for a number of TV spin-off series, which brought her critical acclaim as well as numerous nominations and awards.
This Is England was a multi-series franchise that came to an end in 2015 with This Is England '90.
McClure had already started her most well-known role as DCI Kate Fleming in the television series Line of Duty, costarring Martin Compston.
The six-season series was another critical success for the actress and led to more nominations for her.
In 2015, she received a nomination for a Bafta Television award for best supporting actress, and in 2021, she was nominated for a National Television Award for drama performance.
The actress has long been involved with the Alzheimer's Society of the UK, taking part in its annual charity walk and later becoming an ambassador for the organization in 2018.
After learning that her late grandmother Iris had Alzheimer's in 2019, she founded the Nottingham-based Our Dementia Choir.
The choir performed in front of 2,000 people at Nottingham's Royal Concert Hall as the culmination of a BBC documentary to raise awareness of the illness. McClure later went back to the choir in 2020 to investigate how the coronavirus pandemic affected them.
In August 2022, she received a special honorary Doctorate of Letters from the University of Nottingham as further recognition for her work with the choir.

Antony May, the newly appointed OBE chief executive of Nottingham University Hospitals NHS Trust (NUH), was one of the individuals from the county to be named.
Before beginning his employment at NUH in September 2022, he served as the chief executive of Nottinghamshire County Council and has received honors for his contributions to local government.
