Locals in Lincolnshire are "gutted" after vandals daubed anti-vaccination messages on a village hall.
The NHS recently administered Covid vaccinations to seniors over 75 at Trusthorpe Village Hall, close to Mablethorpe.
The village hall committee stated that a fundraising appeal would be necessary to cover the cost of repairing the exterior walls, windows, and doors that were damaged.
According to Lincolnshire Police, the incident was being investigated.
"Clot shot here," was written in graffiti on a few different areas of the hall's exterior.
Residents contacted Kim Parrinder of the Trusthorpe Village Hall committee on Thursday morning after they saw the graffiti, according to Kim.
"I felt gutted, let down, and incredibly depressed. I simply couldn't comprehend why they would do it, she said.
According to Ms. Parrinder, the damage forced the cancellation of the Covid clinic scheduled for the hall on Thursday.
It's really depressing. Some people elected to receive the injection, and they were devastated to learn they were unable to.
The financial difficulties the hall would face as a result of the exterior damage, according to Ms. Parrinder.
We do have insurance, though. However, due to subsidence in the past couple of years and a significant flood last year, our excess is £5,000, so that isn't really an option. ".
As with all village halls, according to Ms. Parrinder, the committee didn't have a sizable cash reserve because its members didn't want to charge more for venue rentals than their customers could afford.
It's a welcoming place every week. It's coffee and chats all summer long. It is the location of the baby bank and is used for exercise groups, christenings, and various meetings. You name it, we can do it. ".
Ms. Parrinder praised the "fantastic" response of the neighborhood to the vandalism and claimed to have received "so many offers of help.".
She stated that she and the other committee members would be delighted to hear suggestions from the public regarding how money could be raised to cover the cost of repairs.
According to a Lincolnshire Police spokesperson, officers are pleading with anyone who may have information about the vandalism to get in touch with them.
