After claiming to have poor mental health, Scotland's transport minister resigned from the government.
Kevin Stewart stated in his letter of resignation to the first minister that he has experienced periods of poor mental health since last October.
Mr. Stewart claimed that for the previous week, he had been ill and was unable to devote the time necessary to ministerial duties and serving his constituents.
He will carry on acting as an MSP.
He also promised to continue to lend his support from the opposition benches to First Minister Humza Yousaf and the government.
