In Lincoln, two brand-new mental health wards costing millions of pounds have opened.
The wards in Lincoln County Hospital's Peter Hodgkinson Center each cost £25 million and have 19 en suite bedrooms.
Additionally, they have open-air areas for patients and their visitors as well as multipurpose community spaces.
The wards will aid patients who are "going through a mental health crisis," according to Lincolnshire Partnership NHS Foundation Trust (LPFT).
According to the trust, patients, caregivers, employees, and university students had input into the design of the new facility.
The LPFT's chair, Kevin Lockyer, stated: "They have been heavily involved in every aspect of everything from construction to room layouts and color selections to furniture options.
"These two wards will assist us in offering the best care to people at critical times. " .
A peer support specialist at the trust named Gary Hillary said: "It's been great to use my own lived experience from using services to help build and shape the project.
"For me, it boosted my self-esteem because I felt like I was giving back to the services that had helped me so much. .
"Helping to create such a wonderful space has been a true honor. " .
To commemorate the service's launch, a time capsule has been buried.
The trust intends for the capsule to be opened by patients in 100 years. It contains artwork created by current patients and staff.
