Plymouth has received approval to open a new health facility for diagnostic testing.
One of eight new centers announced for across the nation is the Community Diagnostic Centre in the city's West End.
The original West End Health Hub in Stonehouse, which cost £41.5 million, would "not be as large," according to Plymouth Labour.
The center, which will offer MRI, CT, X-ray, and lung cancer screening, is expected to open in September, the statement added.
The project's application was submitted on the first day of our administration, and since then, the project's cabinet member for finance, Councillor Mark Lowry, and he have been working nonstop to get it back on track. ".
After government funding was cut from the initial Stonehouse project, he claimed that locals had been "bitterly let down.".
However, he noted that the planning and groundwork for that meant that this new plan could "get off to a flying start," with designs already in motion.
According to Mr. Lowry, a temporary mobile scanning unit would be set up for city center residents.
The University Hospitals Plymouth NHS Trust and the council claimed to have collaborated closely on the project.
Future service expansion is a possibility, it added.
