To oversee GP services at a County Armagh practice that is in danger of closing, a health trust has hired a temporary contractor.
The Mullaghbawn Maphoner Surgery will momentarily be run by the Southern Health and Social Care Trust.
Following the retirement of the current GP, the Department of Health requested that it do so.
The trust will begin funding all of the practice's current general medical services on July 1. .
Letters will be sent to all 5,300 of Maphoner Surgery's patients later this week, and they will all remain registered with the practice.
The Department of Health declared that it would keep working over the ensuing months to find a permanent GP contractor for the practice.
Six GP offices in County Armagh wrote to the department in May to express their concern about the possibility that the Mullaghbawn practice would close.
In the past year, 14 GP practices in Northern Ireland have decided to return their contract to the department.
