A music video was made to showcase a Ukrainian student's love of dance

Anastasiia

A teenager from Ukraine claims that her passion for dance has made it easier for her to adjust to leaving her home because of the war.

When Anastasiia Limarenko's home city of Kharkiv came under Russian attack about 18 months ago, she fled with her mother and sister.

The family eventually made Telford, Shropshire, their home, and the 16-year-old's dancing led to her school filming her performance for a music video.

She recalled how she had been dancing the entire way from Ukraine.

When I could let go of everything and focus on the music while dancing, it really helped me. ".

The 16-year-old claimed that dancing had aided her in coping during her family's journey from Ukraine to England.

As soon as I reached the areas where it was safe, I went to fields with music playing and danced while wearing earphones, she recalled.

Scene from the video
Anastasiia's dancing was observed by Telford Priory School, which recorded it for a music video.

As a new student at Telford Priory School, Anastasiia admitted that it "was scary" at first because she didn't know anyone there and found English to be difficult to understand.

Ben Millington, a music teacher, noticed her passion for dancing within a month and informed her that the school wanted to highlight it in a video.

The adolescent said, "It was a unique experience for me; no one had ever done something for me like that, and I absolutely love it.

The school recorded her dancing as a group of students sang and played music, and she had choreographed her own performance in her free time at home.

They were all incredibly proud of Anastasiia and what she had accomplished, Mr. Millington told BBC Radio Shropshire.

When you simply give yourself to music, move, dance, and explore while forgetting everything, the student continued.
