Andrew Tate, a controversial influencer, has been charged in Romania with rape, human trafficking, and organizing a gang to molest women.
The same charges also apply to his brother Tristan and two other individuals. All have refuted the charges.
The Tate brothers were initially detained in December at their residence in Bucharest.
Following a Romanian judge's decision, they were transferred from custody to house arrest in March.
According to the indictment filed with the Bucharest court, the four defendants formed an organized criminal group in 2021 to engage in human trafficking not only in Romania but also in the US and the UK.
It identifies seven alleged victims who it claims were lured in by the Tate brothers using false promises of marriage and love.
The trial won't begin right away and is going to last for a while.
Before the case can be tried, a Romanian judge has 60 days to review the case files.
An Andrew Tate spokesperson stated: "We embrace the opportunity it presents to prove their innocence. ".
An apparent video of former kickboxer and British-American Andrew Tate assaulting a woman led to his removal from the British television program Big Brother in 2016.
After being banned from Twitter for saying that women should "bear some responsibility" for being sexually assaulted, he went on to become well-known online. He was then given his position back.
Despite restrictions on social media, he became well-known, especially among young men, by endorsing what he portrayed as an excessively opulent and masculine lifestyle.
