Police in France are searching the offices of the Paris 2024 Olympic Games' organizers.
The raids, according to officials, are a part of two preliminary investigations into corruption.
According to the BBC, the investigations are related to how building projects connected to the summer games were assigned contracts.
According to a spokesperson for the organizing committee for Paris 2024, the organization is "cooperating fully with the investigators.".
The offices of Solideo, the government agency in charge of the construction projects for the games, as well as the Olympic organizing committee's headquarters in Saint-Denis, a suburb of Paris, were unexpectedly visited on Tuesday by anti-corruption investigators, according to a report from the BBC's Hugh Schofield in Paris.
The BBC later received confirmation from the French judiciary's PNF, which is in charge of pursuing financial crime, that the two organizations were the targets of their searches.
The Paralympics will be held in September 2024, following the Olympics, which run from 26 July to 11 August.
The police raids on Tuesday are the most recent incident to have an impact on French sports and the Olympic movement recently.
Brigitte Henriques, the president of France's National Olympic Committee, announced her resignation in May, which surprised many sports analysts.
Ms. Henriques' decision, which was not explained, came amid reports of bitter internal conflict in the company.
The heads of the French football and rugby federations resigned earlier this year due to high-profile scandals.
