In time for Eurovision in May, a memorial to Ukraine will be built at Liverpool's famous Strawberry Field.
As a "symbol of hope and for peace around the world," the 22 ft (6 m) tall Ukrainian Peace Monument will be unveiled at the gardens.
The statue will initially reside in the city, with plans to relocate it permanently to Ukraine once the situation is secure.
To commemorate the beginning of the Ukrainian War one year ago, a scaled-down version has been displayed in the US.
The Ukrainian community in the area, which Strawberry Field has been supporting, will especially benefit from this sculpture, according to mission director Kathy Versfeld.
The monument will be placed next to the brand-new Strawberry Field bandstand. Eurovision will indeed serve as a reminder of the ability of music to bring people together during difficult times. Our message is clear - whoever you are, wherever you are, give peace a chance. ".
The Beatles' song Strawberry Fields Forever was inspired by John Lennon's childhood memories of playing in the grounds of Strawberry Field, which was then a Salvation Army children's home.
Between May 9 and May 13, Liverpool will host the Eurovision Song Contest.
