According to Ukrainian officials, a Russian missile attack struck a busy restaurant area in the eastern Ukrainian city of Kramatorsk.
The region's governor told Ukrainian TV that while emergency personnel are assisting the injured, the number of fatalities has not yet been determined.
Social media videos and images display collapsed buildings.
The news comes as President Volodymyr Zelensky declared that the counteroffensive in Ukraine was making progress on all fronts.
On Tuesday night, Pavlo Kyrylenko stated to Ukrainian television that two missiles had just "struck the city of Kramatorsk.".
"We are currently working in the city to determine how many people were hurt and possibly killed. This area is the city's core. These were open dining areas where lots of people were eating. ".
According to the city council of Kramatorsk, Russian forces have also targeted a nearby village.
The council announced on Telegram that "they hit a restaurant" and that search and rescue efforts were currently underway.
