Reports that Carlo Ancelotti, the manager of Real Madrid, has agreed to manage Brazil have been quashed as "unfounded" by the South American nation.
Ancelotti, 63, is currently in Morocco for the Club World Cup with the 14-time European champions.
The selected coach will be made public at the appropriate time, according to the Brazilian Football Confederation.
Since Tite resigned following Croatia's World Cup quarterfinal victory in December, Brazil has been without a manager.
Ancelotti, whose only prior managerial experience abroad was as an assistant with Italy in the 1990s, declared on Friday that he intended to finish the remainder of his current contract with the Spanish superpower.
My predicament is pretty obvious. I'm under contract until 2024," Ancelotti, whose team will compete in the championship match against Al Hilal of Saudi Arabia, said.
In addition to Luis Enrique, Pep Guardiola of Manchester City, Zinedine Zidane, and Jose Mourinho of Roma have been mentioned in Brazilian media reports as potential Selecao managers.
