Football player Christian Atsu's partner has requested that equipment be sent to the building that has collapsed where he was living since Monday's earthquake in Turkey. Atsu has been missing since that event.
According to reports, Atsu, a player for the Turkish team Hatayspor, was extricated "with injuries" from a building.
But a day later, his agent said it was true that nobody knows where he is.
Living in Newcastle, England, Claire Rupio told BBC News, "I still pray and believe that he is alive.
Rupio claims that the conflicting information regarding his whereabouts has been "confusing" and "quite shocking," and she adds that their kids have heard on the radio that he is still missing.
She pleaded with the Hatayspor club, the Turkish government, and the British government to send supplies to help people escape the rubble, particularly her partner and the father of her children.
They are unable to descend that far without the equipment, so they need it to rescue them. And time is of the essence.
In the aftermath of the earthquake and its aftershocks, more than 21,000 people have perished in southern Turkey and northern Syria.
Since the earthquake on Monday, Atsu and Taner Savut, the sporting director of Atsu's club Hatayspor, have vanished from view.
Atsu had been found alive, according to Hatayspor's vice president on Tuesday, but other club officials and Atsu's agent Nana Sechere claimed on Wednesday that they had not been able to confirm this.
Rupio claimed that the agent is currently in Turkey and making an effort to enter the Hatay building where Atsu is.
"The situation remains the same, Christian Atsu is still missing," Sechere tweeted on Thursday. I don't have any new information unless I see or speak with Christian.
Rupio continued, "They're doing their best to rescue everyone, and they know where the building is.".
They are aware that there are still people trapped beneath the debris, but getting them out is a problem because they lack the necessary tools.
He's still missing, and we have no idea where he is, so.
Atsu reports have "been puzzling and shocking.".
Atsu and Rupio last spoke early on Saturday. She called the false report from the club that Atsu had been saved "quite shocking.
She said, "The club were confirming that he was found, was alive, and was taken to hospital, and 11 hours later my children had to hear from the radio that they still did not know where he is.
"I am aware that his agent is searching diligently for him there. If he sees him or speaks to him, he will undoubtedly bring me reliable news. The situation is very perplexing.
The 31-year-old Atsu spent time with Chelsea, Everton, and Bournemouth in addition to playing 107 games for Newcastle.
