Olivier Giroud's goal gave AC Milan a Serie A victory over Torino at home, snapping a seven-game losing streak.
Theo Hernandez's left-wing cross was met by Giroud's glancing header.
Rafael Leao's pass set up a quick counterattack, and Hernandez had a great chance to add a second goal for Milan, but he missed the target.
The visitors had the better opportunities in the opening period, but Antonio Sanabria missed his intended target and twice saw his shots blocked by goalkeeper Ciprian Tatarusanu.
In the first leg of their Champions League round of 16 match, Milan takes on Tottenham on Tuesday in Italy. The second leg will be played on March 8 in London.
The defending Italian champions included Zlatan Ibrahimovic, a 41-year-old striker who underwent knee surgery last summer, among their substitutes for the first time this year.
Although they are still 15 points behind unchallenged leaders Napoli, Stefano Pioli's team won and he was not required to move them up from third to sixth.
Going into this game at the San Siro, Milan had lost four straight games and hadn't won since defeating Salernitana 2-1 on January 4.
Their losing streak had included humiliating defeats to Lazio and Sassuolo in Serie A, as well as losses at home to Torino in the Coppa Italia round of 16 and Inter Milan in the Italian Super Cup.
