An Exeter-based IT company defeated more than 30 corporate teams to win the largest esports competition of its kind in the South West.
Friday's Rocket League competition was held at Exeter College, and Timewade won.
Owynn Quinton, Alfie Edwards, and Jack Dale made up the team.
Heat competitions were held at colleges throughout the South West, including Cornwall College and City College Plymouth.
The South West gaming industry's future was the topic of a discussion among attendees at the final in addition to the gaming.
According to video game data company Newzoo, the total audience for the esports sector will surpass 640 million by 2025. Esports is one of the sectors of the tech economy that is expanding the fastest.
The esports movement is growing, and colleges, in my opinion, are crucial to keeping the momentum going, according to Rob Bosworth, vice principal and deputy CEO at Exeter College.
Building on the esports Festival's previous year's success and bringing together businesses and colleges from all over the South West has been fantastic.
"Over the past year, esports have developed in the UK and are now represented at events like the Commonwealth Games. As a result, we can see how important it is to give students the chance to compete in this kind of setting.
