Several neighbors who live in a Hove apartment building are opposing plans to put mobile phone masts on their roof.
For O2 and Vodafone, mobile phone infrastructure company Cornerstone has indicated its intention to install 12 masts and 4 dishes on the roof of Park Lodge in Dyke Road.
The company also plans to construct a compound in the common garden, which locals claim is home to wildlife.
In the event that "uncooperative landowners" refuse to permit construction to proceed, mobile phone companies may take them before a land tribunal.
O2 and Vodafone wanted to erect masts and dishes on the neighbors' roof in 2021, but the neighbors successfully objected.
One local claimed Cornerstone had obviously not visited the site because it made no mention of the new orchard that locals had planted in memory of the late Queen. Cornerstone has not yet responded to the BBC's request for comment.
They claim that because of its overgrowth, Valerie Bundy's garden is suitable for herbicide application and concreting.
However, she countered that "bats, badgers, and starlings who see this as their home" were present in the area.
O2 customers in Brighton and Hove have expressed frustration over a lack of mobile phone network coverage, and the network has responded by stating that it is "working to boost capacity.".
To enhance network coverage, EE announced it was putting up miniature mobile masts in some areas of Brighton.
These make use of already-built infrastructure, such as phone boxes, in crowded areas where it is impractical to erect larger masts.
