One of the headlines from last week's PlayStation Showcase was the announcement that Metal Gear Solid 3 would be getting a remake.
The big question on fans' minds after the announcement was whether the original cast would be recording their roles again.
It appears not. According to BBC Newsbeat, two actors who voiced significant characters in the PlayStation 2 version have not been invited back into the recording studio.
The voice lines from the first game will be reused, according to Konami, without any changes.
Most of the English-language voice actors were contacted by Newsbeat or their agents to inquire about whether they would be re-recording their parts.
Colonel Volgin, who was portrayed by Neil Ross, said he hadn't received any word from Konami regarding the remake.
While Solid Snake actor David Hayter's agent hasn't yet responded, another co-star offered a similar statement.
Officially known as Metal Gear Delta: Snake Eater, the remake was initially promised to "star the original voice characters," according to Konami.
Fans were unsure if this indicated they could anticipate repurposed dialogue or brand-new audio.
There would be "no changes" to the dialogue, Konami's US PR director reportedly told US tech site The Verge.
Hideo Kojima, the man behind the widely regarded classic MGS 3, won't be working on the PS5, Xbox One, or PC version of the game.
There was some worry that any changes to the script or performances of the game might backfire.
And the Nintendo GameCube remake of the original Metal Gear Solid, Twin Snakes, used new performances that many fans thought were subpar.
Since the voice tracks from the 2004 game have been left alone, some gamers are actually quite happy about this.
The degree to which MGS Delta will resemble a remaster rather than a complete remake has been a subject of discussion.
We're still awaiting more information beyond a few fresh screenshots.
With modern graphics and "immersive sound," Konami promised a "faithful recreation of the original story and game design.".
Konami intends to republish the first three Metal Gear Solid Games as the Master Collection, Volume One later this year, though a release date for Delta has not yet been announced.
